With profound sadness and loving remembrance, we celebrate the life of Daniel
Alexander Crumity, who entered eternal rest after a courageous battle with
pancreatic cancer.

Daniel was born in Wyckoff Hospital to the late Della and Alexander
Crumity. As the youngest child of his parents and the youngest of his grandmother’s twenty-eight grandchildren, Daniel held a special place in the hearts of his family from the very beginning. His warm smile, gentle spirit, and loving nature made him a source of joy to all who knew him.

Daniel received his early education at St. Clement Pope School, where he developed a strong foundation in faith, values, and community. He later attended Andrew Jackson High School, where he excelled both academically and socially. A talented athlete, Daniel proudly played on the varsity basketball team and participated in numerous school activities, forming lifelong friendships and memories.

Following his education, Daniel began what would become a remarkable and dedicated career with Rudin Management. Over the course of thirty-six years, he served in several roles, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues, tenants, and management alike. Daniel was known for his exceptional work ethic, reliability, and commitment to excellence. More importantly, he cherished the relationships he built throughout his career. He found fulfillment in helping others, being part of a team, and making a positive difference
in the lives of those around him.

Daniel possessed a generous heart and a quiet strength that naturally drew people to him. He was known for his kindness, honesty, compassion, and unwavering willingness to lend a helping hand. Whether offering words of encouragement, sharing a laugh, or simply being present during difficult times, Daniel touched countless lives. His loyalty, warmth, and unconditional love created bonds that will endure for generations.

One of Daniel’s most treasured gifts was his wonderful sense of humor. He had a natural ability to make people laugh, lighten the mood, and bring comfort even during challenging times. His quick wit, playful spirit, and infectious laughter made every gathering brighter. Family and friends could always count on Daniel to tell a story, share a joke, or find a way to bring smiles to those around him.

Daniel also had a deep love for playing pool, a pastime that brought him both enjoyment and camaraderie throughout his life. Whether competing in a friendly game, spending time with friends, or sharing laughs around the pool table, he approached the game with the same patience, focus, and good-natured spirit that characterized his life. For Daniel, pool was about more than the game itself—it was about the friendships, conversations, and memories created along the way. Many who knew him will fondly remember his skill, friendly competitiveness, and the joy he found in every match.

Nothing brought Daniel greater happiness than spending time with family. He looked forward to family gatherings, holidays, celebrations, cookouts, and simple moments spent together. He cherished the laughter, conversations, traditions, and connections that kept the family close. His presence brought warmth to every occasion, and his love for family was evident in everything he did.

Above all else, Daniel was a devoted father and family man. He treasured his role as a father and took immense pride in his sons, whom he loved deeply and unconditionally. He was a caring brother, a proud uncle, a beloved cousin, and a loyal friend. Family was the cornerstone of his life, and he found great joy in being surrounded by those he loved.

Daniel leaves to cherish his memory his beloved sons, Daniel and Jonathan; his loving sisters, Alice, Georgette, and Yvette; his brothers-in-law, Dakim and Chris;
his partner of 12 years, Nancy, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, dear friends, coworkers, and all whose lives were blessed by knowing him.

Although our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort in the countless memories he leaves behind and in the enduring legacy of love, courage, resilience, and kindness that defined his life. Daniel faced every challenge with dignity and grace, inspiring all who witnessed his strength and faith. Throughout his battle with illness, he demonstrated remarkable courage and perseverance, reminding us all of the power of hope, determination, and love.

As we gather to celebrate Daniel’s life, we honor not only the man he was but also the extraordinary example he set through his compassion, integrity, resilience, and devotion to others. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and his memory will forever be a guiding light to his family and friends.

May God grant him eternal rest and may perpetual light shine upon him.

“When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure.”
