Devin Williams
1974 - 2018He had an amazing life and I swell with pride on all he accomplished. From Townsend Harris track star to pledging while at SUNY Albany and earning a Law Degree at Chicago Kent. The degree allowed him to work at the prestigious Paul Weiss law firm. He would never stop moving forward or working and had multiple other projects. Working as a film producer and or director was a growing part of his life. “Big Words” received big awards to say the least and he smugly explained to me how it was a big deal. He was also involved in a restaurant, Amarachi which he was also proud of. I was amazed to see him throw on the charm and work an event there.
A host of other things and I can’t name them all… Completing the Chicago Marathon, Ninjitsu trained, I am sure of others I may not even know.
Sadly he mostly kept his health issues and most troubles to himself. I just recently learned of a nickname the “Sphinx” which is fitting, he kept tight-lipped till the end. I believe he didn’t want to burden people with additional worry….
I will miss his laugh, his humor and his warmth. I can hold countless memories in my heart as I know many of you will too.
He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Williams, his older brother, Kyle Williams, and countless friends who are also truly his family. Please no longer mourn, but celebrate his brief life. Try to carry on his spirit and touch as many lives as he has.

This is a wonderful remembrance of Devin. He was a wonderful friend and coworker, and I will always keep him in my heart. Wishing you comfort and strength in this difficult time.
I have lost a brother. Devin was like no other. And in addition, I am not able to make it to the service! Please enjoy the celebration of the life of Devin Williams!
Dear Family of Mr. Devin Williams,
We are sadden to hear of the untimely passing of Devin. You have our heartfelt sympathy. We had the honor of knowing Devin from his infancy and his growing up days with his friends, inclusive of our two sons on 227th St.
We recall Devin’s youthful employment with us wherein he did a superb job of whatever he was assigned to do. Devin always commanded respect. Most of Devin’s coworkers were older and larger in statute, but they came to realize that he was not a push-over, as he would philosophy on why they had to follow the rules that were in place for the areas that he was assigned to control. The coworkers honored Devin’s wishes and they all became great friends.
We always had a great feeling that intellectual Devin would accomplish much success in his lifetime and he truly did. Our loving memories of Devin will live in our hearts and minds for forever.
May you continue to be blessed, with loving memories of the “Gem” that you shared your lives with.
Sincerely,
The Sallie Family
I’m very sorry for Devin’s family’s loss. I met Devin my first week of law school and we were great friends throughout. We always had our NY/Chicago sports bets/arguments and enjoyed talking about non-law conversations. He was a great person with strong character and had an incredible laugh that I can still hear. I’ll keep his family in my thoughts and prayers.
