Life reflection for Mrs. Marie Rose Moze

Marie Rose Moze, affectionately known by family and friends as Rose, was born July 21, 1959, in Gonaives, Haiti. As one of four siblings (Felix Zephyr, Serge Joseph and Emmanot Pierre) Rose exhibited a caring and nurturing tendency from an early age. Her life journey led her to Brooklyn, NY, where she departed this life in peace on Friday, December 13, 2024.

Rose’s character and life experiences reflect a profound commitment to service, compassion, and resilience. Her education in Haiti instilled in her a strong sense of community and the importance of social relationships. The educational system in Haiti was like none other. Rose embodied discipline, love, and an unwavering willingness to help others. Even when faced with her own challenges, she remained dedicated to uplifting those around her. Working as a home health aide, Rose had technical skills but also emotional intelligence and empathy. Always at the aid of others, Rose lived a life of selflessness and love. She often prioritized the needs of others above her own.

Growing up, Rose found the love of her life, Astrel Moze. Their decision to join in holy matrimony symbolizes their commitment not only to each other but also to shared values such as love, fidelity, and mutual support. Out of this union was birth four wonderful children: Juliette Moze, Rominick Moze, Ashmir Moze, and Ushrey Moze. After marriage, this union decided to start life anew in the United States of America and relocated to Brooklyn, New York, November of 1994. Moving to the United States was a challenge at first, adapting to new cultural norms, but together they pressed through. This was an opportunity for growth and expansion.

Aside from working as a home health aide, Rose demonstrated the spirit of giving through her actions, particularly in her love for cooking and baking. Her generosity extended beyond her immediate family but to friends and anyone in need, showingher selflessness and compassion. She gave not out of obligation or expectation but from the abundance of her heart never asking for anything in return. Cooking and baking were more than just hobbies for Rose; they were expressions of love and care. By preparing meals for those around her, Rose used her talents to create moments of happiness and togetherness. Being “gifted with her hands” allowed her to create things that brought joy to others. Whether it was through cooking, baking, or other creative endeavors such as being a seamstress, this gift allowed her to touch lives in meaningful ways. One of Rose’s motivations was making others smile, even if only for a moment.

Rose was a deeply faithful woman. Her devotion to God was evident in her daily practices, such as singing hymns of the church and actively participating in her faith community. As a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Brooklyn, she demonstrated a steadfast commitment to her religious beliefs, which not only guided her personal life but also influenced howshe raised her children. Rose’s relationship with God was central to her identity, and she worked diligently to instill these values within her family. She believed strongly in the importance of family unity and raising children with discipline, love, and respect for others. Everywhere Rose went, she brought along her children a testament to how central they were to her life. She saw motherhood as both a responsibility and a blessing from God, dedicating herself fully to their upbringing. While Rose loved all her children dearly, there was something uniquely profound about the bond between herself and Juliette Moze, her oldest child and only daughter. Their relationship went beyond that of mother and daughter, they were best friends who supported each other through life’s challenges. Juliette played an essential role in caring for Rose later in life, reflecting the deep mutual respect and love they shared. This close bond exemplifies how Rose’s teachings came full circle: just as she had cared for Juliette when she was young, Juliette reciprocated by taking care of Rose when she needed it most. This was a testament of life and how faith-based values like selflessness, compassion, and familial duty can create enduring relationships that withstand the test of time. In addition to being rooted in faith, Rose valued discipline and orderliness in all aspects of life. She believed strongly in maintaining neatness, cleanliness, proper etiquette, and doing things thoroughly rather than “half-stepping.”

With sadness, Rose leaves to cherish her precious memories, a husband, Astrel Moze; four children, Juliette Moze best friend, Rominick Moze her first son, Ashmir Moze second son, and, Ushrey Moze her fourth and last baby boy; three grandchildren Cébaxii and Jiah Rose Demorcy and Beautiful Rose Moze; , neices and nephew Alexander, Sarah and Zac Joseph, many church family and relatives in her native country Haiti.

She will be tremendously missed fans forever LOVED!!
