Moise Alce

1926 - 2025
Moise Alce, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and community member, peacefully passed away on April 1, 2025, in Queens, New York. Born on May 16, 1926, in Saint Michel De L’attalaye, Haiti, Moise led a life rich in love, faith, and family. At 28, he married the love of his life, Anne Marie, beginning a partnership that would span 70 years. Their enduring union was a testament to their commitment and love, which he cherished deeply.
Moise was a devoted father to five children, and though he experienced the profound loss of one as a baby, his heart was always open. His family grew to include more than six adopted children, each of whom he loved and nurtured as his own. Moise’s legacy is evident in the lives of his children and grandchildren, who carry forward his gentle spirit and infectious sense of humor. Known for his storytelling and comedic flair, he was a gentle giant, a teddy bear at heart, who brought joy and laughter to those around him.
A man of deep faith, Moise’s life was a testament to his unwavering devotion to God. His continuous prayers and embodiment of Christian values made him a pillar of strength in his community. His spiritual commitment was matched by his dedication to maintaining his health and understanding the benefits of exercise long before it became mainstream. Moise was a man who loved to dance, enjoyed a good meal, and was seldom seen without a suit, embracing life with elegance and vigor.
Moise is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Anne Marie Alce, and his cherished children: Quetlie Alce, Carine Antoine, Myrtha Antoine, Darly Alce Laporte, Joseph Witcheins Joseph, Wilford Joseph, Bermude Joseph, Nicole Larochelle, Walkeen Saint Fleur, Dinnisa Saint Fleur, Gania Charles, Luchene Antoine,  Richard Larochelle, Reynold Charles. His legacy also includes his grandchildren: Spencer Antoine, Shana Antoine, Kery Antoine, Dave Antoine, Myrtchena Antoine, Bradley Laporte, Kara Larochelle, Cory Larochelle, Ralph Witcheins Joseph, Kristley Joseph, Kristofer Joseph, Naël Saint Fleur, Liam Saint Fleur and Garlane Montreuil- His legacy also includes his nephews and nieces Jacques Andre GrandChamps and family, Therese Legros and family, Erick GrandChamps and family, Wickence Alce and family, Jean Phillipe Alce and family, the Alce family. Countless friends and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Moise’s life and bid farewell at the funeral service, which will be held at Saint Clare Church in Rosedale on April 12, 2025, at 9:45 AM. As we gather to honor Moise’s memory, we remember a life lived with love, laughter, and a profound faith that continues to inspire all who knew him.
